Dr Jo Burrell and Dr Felicity Baker who are both clinical psychologists and co-founders of Ultimate Resilience have published the results of their survey into the mental health of HR professionals.
Here are five key findings:
- Depression is almost three times higher than the general population
- Anxiety is two-and-a-half times higher than the general population.
- 48% of respondents experience at least one symptom of burnout.
- Low levels of wellbeing are evident in 57% of respondents
- Support at work is rated as insufficient by 78% of respondents
Bearing in mind that HR people are major influencers and often the decision makers when it comes to the level of mental health support in their organisation, these results are quite staggering.
It’s hard to believe believe that no-one has looked at this specific area and measured it before.
Great piece of work from Jo and Felicity and having recently met with them, I’m very keen to learn more about how they can help.
