In a recent Mind survey of 5,000 adults, 36% said they never discuss their mental health.
No doubt many of that 36% may want to but find it difficult for a number of reasons. For them, it is right to find ways to help overcome barriers and provide appropriate support.
There will also be people who really don’t want to. For them it is right to respect their reasons and desire for privacy.
The way the survey results are presented almost suggests that people not wanting to talk about their mental health are ‘not on the programme’.
