HR Supervision

Have you heard of HR Supervision?

I hadn’t until spending some time with clinical psychologists Dr Jo Burrell and Dr Felicity Baker – I’ve previously posted about the concerning results of their mental health survey of HR professionals.

Clinical organisations have arrangements in place for the supervision of clinical staff.

This helps those staff manage the personal and professional demands created by the nature of their work; reducing many risks, including to their mental health, by allowing them to identify and address potential problems early on.

HR professionals also often work in the most challenging and difficult circumstances but without a framework of regular, independent supervision.

Based on their own clinical experience, HR Supervision is a unique support system created by Jo and Felicity to help HR professionals manage the emotional strains of their roles, safeguard against burnout, and build resilience. It’s been designed specifically for HR teams, providing them with regular, structured support sessions where they can reflect, process challenges and develop tools to stay resilient.

In the current tough working environment, I think many in HR would benefit from this service; but acknowledging why and sharing it with their senior colleagues could be difficult. I hope for their sake this changes.
